A marketplace for codebases

App stores are dead.
Buy the code.

Someone had the idea and spent the tokens building it. Why waste your own?

01

Buy once

Buy a codebase and clone it with git. You can modify it, deploy it, and run it however you like.

02

Subscribe to updates

Subscribers get each new release as a regular git commit, so updates can be merged into your own changes. You're only charged for months with a new release.

03

Works with coding agents

Codebases are delivered as standard git repositories, and your agent can search, set up, and sell codebases for you through the Moatless skill.

Buy and sell source code for apps and SaaS

Moatless is a marketplace where developers sell the source code of apps, SaaS products, starter kits, and tools they've built, so you can buy working code instead of building it from scratch.

App stores sell you access to someone else's software. Moatless sells you the code itself, with a license to change it, deploy it, and build your own product on it.

What do I get when I buy a codebase?
Its full source code, as a git repository you clone with git. You can change it, deploy it, and run it however you like, under the license shown on its listing. Each listing says what the code is built with and which services you'll need to run it, such as a database or a payment provider.
Can I use it in a commercial product?
Yes. Unless a codebase comes with a license file of its own, each purchase gives one person or organization a license to use the code in what they build, including products they sell. You can't resell or redistribute the code itself. The Terms of Service have the details.
How do updates work?
Each listing says what's included. Some include every future release with the purchase. Others offer a subscription to updates, which charges you only for the months (or years) in which the seller publishes a new release. Each release arrives as a regular git commit, so you can merge it into your own changes, and you can cancel anytime and keep the releases you have.
Can I get a refund?
Since you get the code as soon as you pay, purchases aren't refundable, except when you couldn't get the code because of a problem on our side, you were charged twice, or the law requires a refund. The Refund Policy explains each case.
How do I sell my code?
List a codebase from a GitHub repository or any git URL, set a one-time price and, if you like, a subscription to updates, and publish releases from its branches or tags. You keep 90% of each sale, less Stripe's processing fee, and you're paid out every Friday. How selling works has the details.
Can my coding agent do this for me?
Yes. Give your agent the prompt at the top of this page, and it sets itself up with the Moatless skill. It can search for codebases that fit what you're building, send you the ones worth buying, and clone them once they're yours. If you sell, it can draft your listing from your code, take its screenshots, and publish its releases.
