Refund Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
Codebases on Moatless are delivered immediately, as git repositories, and can't be returned once they've been downloaded. Because of that, purchases are non-refundable, including when a codebase turns out not to be what you wanted. Before you buy, read the listing's description, license, and release history, and check the services it needs.
If you live in the EU or the UK, you'd usually have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. For digital content like code, that right ends once the content is delivered, if you asked for it to be delivered right away. When you buy on Moatless, checkout asks you to request immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you lose your right to withdraw once the code is delivered, and the email confirming your purchase repeats this.
When we'll issue a refund
We'll only refund a purchase if, within 14 days of buying:
- you couldn't access the code because of a problem on our side that we couldn't fix,
- you were charged more than once for the same purchase, or
- a refund is required by law.
To request a refund, email hello@moatless.store with the email address on your account and the listing you bought. We'll respond within 3 business days.
Subscriptions
A subscription is only charged for billing periods in which a new release is published, at the end of each period. You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing page linked in your Library. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If a release was published during that period, you're charged for it then; otherwise you won't be charged again.
You keep access to every release you were entitled to while your subscription was active.
After a refund
When a purchase is refunded in full, you lose access to the releases it included, and the license to use the code from that purchase no longer applies. If you bought the same listing more than once, you keep what your other purchases included.
When a subscription payment is refunded in full, the subscription is canceled, and you lose access to releases published during the period that payment covered. Refunding a subscription's first payment also refunds the purchase that came with it.
The same applies when a payment is disputed with your bank or card issuer and the dispute is decided in your favor.
For sellers
When a sale is refunded, the seller gives back their share of it, along with the Stripe processing fee they paid on it, which Stripe doesn't return. When a buyer wins a dispute, the seller also pays Stripe's fee for the dispute. Moatless pays these fees when a refund is because of its own mistake, such as a buyer being charged twice. The Terms of Service have the details. Moatless may refund a purchase without the seller's approval in the cases above.
